Yuki: Hurt by Humans, Healed by Love

This is Yuki.

She was just a tiny pup when we met her — barely a few months old, living by the Bîc River in Chișinău with her mother and siblings.

Kind volunteers were doing what they could: bringing food, watching over them. The little family had survived so far.

Then one day… everything changed.

Yuki was missing part of her jaw.

Gone was the playful pup they knew. In her place was a terrified little soul — cowering, flinching, unable to trust.

Then came the horror.

Locals told us what had happened:

A group of boys had put a firecracker in her mouth.

That’s what tore her tiny jaw apart.
That’s what stole her trust in humans.
That’s what left her too frightened to be touched — too scared to live.

But when the call came, we didn’t turn away.

We brought Yuki in. Held her close. Showed her that not all hands bring pain.

Our vet, Tatiana, fought to save her. Part of Yuki’s jaw could be repaired — but much was too damaged.

Yet somehow… this brave little survivor adapted.

Today, she eats both soft and dry food. She walks among us, watching, learning. Slowly, she’s discovering that love still exists. That kindness is real.

She will never survive alone — she’s too vulnerable. Too wary.

But she will never be alone again. She is safe. She is home.

But friends — Yuki is not alone in her suffering.
